On to the Playoffs

No, I don't feel any better that the Bills made the NFL playoffs for the first time in 17 years because of a Ravens defensive collapse.

It was hard to watch my team "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" with less than a minute left of the clock. The Ravens went from playoff-bound to spectators with one improbable 4th down and 12 yards to go play. Properly defended; the Ravens are in the playoffs. As it is, they are on the outside looking in.

All of the family's teams, except one, met similar fates this season. The Redskins and the Cowboys, similarly underperformed. Only the Steelers demonstrated excellence on the football field.  

They are so good that they do not have to risk the frigid temperatures this weekend as they have a bye.

I suppose that given the playoff choices, I will have to throw my support behind the Steelers. 

And so the playoffs begin! May the best team win without gratuitous assistance from the referees.
